Introduction to PMC Machining and Manufacturing's Staff
Mark PorterPresident / CEO
Mark is the President and founder of PMC. Mark started PMC in 1987 after being trained as a machinist. He initially focused on close tolerance aerospace machining and grew his business in this field, bootstrapping the company along the way. Mark's breakthrough came in 1993 when a local manufacturer of sputtering targets identified PMC as a machining subcontractor. PMC was a prime contractor for that company for four years and learned the requirements for machining a wide variety of sputtering targets. In 1996 PMC became a direct supplier to the market. Starting with the US glass coating market, PMC built up a small but loyal customer base through supplying high quality product at competitive prices and lead-times. In1999 PMC built a customer base in FPD (flat panel display) and established itself as a supplier of the turned targets used for magnetic storage in computer hard drives . In 2007 PMC is recognized as a specialist in large monolithic targets commonly used in the production of flat panel television and computer monitors.
